Of Her Fire and Of Her Ice

     It has been ages since I'd written anything of a literary track. I keep wanting to get back to it but no subject seems worthy enough.  We had a Team Switzerland Day on Twilighters Anonymous recently and I was inspired to write something for it. It has been on the back of my mind for a while now to dedicate something to my beloved characters. I did write two articles but nothing so literary as this. :)

     I should have known that this series would succeed in reawakening my long dormant muse. I am a bit rusty though, so please excuse any hitch in the flow.  I've changed the title of the poem a bit.  In any case, without further ado...

Of Her Fire and Of Her Ice

He is said to be her fire
Bringing her joy and sunshine
When there was none forthcoming
Even when she was at the edge of her personal abyss
He was steadfast in bringing her back
And for that she owes him her life

He is said to be her ice
Her one true love that lingers even when he's gone
He credits her as his reason for living
While her love for him is everlasting
Theirs is a bond that is unbreakable
Not by absence, not by distance, and not even by time

As essential as ice is in her life
Fire she can never do without
No matter how contrary they are with each other
Both are crucial to her continued survival
Never will she be made to choose one over the other
Instead she will always hold both dear to her heart
