Leaves Are Falling....

The other day, I was talking with my two friends, Maria and Nita, about Autumn.  Well, they were talking about it since we don't really have seasons here.  We either have normal weather (hot and sweltering at times) and monsoon. LOL. That's about it. :)

Amazing how even as we don't have the Autumn season, the trees know when it is time for the cycle to change. :)  The leaves are even changing colours.

Anyway, I saw some fallen leaves on the ground in my little meadow and immediately thought of my friends. It rather felt a little like Autumn especially since I took this in the morning and the sun was not as warm yet.

This tree really reminded me of my friends in their cooler climates, especially the Olympic Peninsula.   It seems rather out of place here.  It's amazing to see it thriving in our warm weather but thrive it seems to be. :)

Alas this little patch of grass didn't fare too well.  The sun's strong rays seemed to have burned a path through it.

New Moon High

Today ended on a very good note! On a whim I dropped by CD-Rama, the music off-shoot of my favourite bookstore, Popular, to see if they've got the New Moon soundtrack yet.  I wasn't too hopeful since the movie will only be released on 3 December here but my TA mates have been gushing about it so I thought, what the heck. I reckon my face must have lighted up like a Christmas tree when the sales person told me it was indeed in coz her smile was quite wide too - well either that or she remembered me from the last time I'd gone with my sis to get my groovy headphones, ha ha.

So.... I've got me my own New Moon soundtrack now, woo hoo! No more waiting months to get the thrill of the music as I'd done with Twilight.  I'm even listening to it as I write this so I'm in a rather mellow and chilled mood, LOL.  Now if that was not enough to make my day, I'd gone to Cold Storage (a supermarket for my foreign friends) and there was a mobile stall by the check-out counters that was selling phone accessories and EZ-Link stickers (the ones for the public transport cards).  I was just being cheeky and checking out if they have any other Twilight stickers.  My eyes must have bulged out when I saw NEW MOON stickers!!  I know my inner child was squealing inside! Whoa! I did not expect that!  They were even my favourite ones of the released promo pics! Wicked!  So anyway, Thursday is a good day! And one more day to the weekend, awesome!

Come Back to Me

Every so often, I encounter a song that really leaves an impression.  Of late, it's been David Cook's new song, Come Back to Me.

David won last year's American Idol, by the way. I was really thrilled that the rock genre finally won, it was about time! :D

Anyway, this is an amazing song.  It takes a very strong person to do this. Rather makes one wish one is cherished enough to be on the one he waits for. :)

 Come Back to Me

You say you gotta go and find yourself
You say that you're becoming someone else
Don't recognize the face in the mirror looking back at you

You say you're leaving as you look away
I know there's really nothing left to say
Just know I'm here whenever you need me I'll wait for you

So I'll let you go, I'll set you free
And when you've seen what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me

Take your time, I won't go anywhere
Picture you with the wind in your hair
I'll keep your things right where you left them
I'll be here for you

Oh and I'll let you go, I'll set your free
And when you've seen what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me

And I hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you, come back to me

I can't get close if you're not there
I can't get inside if there's no soul there
I can't face you, I can't save you
It's something you'll have to do

So I'll let you go, I'll set you free
And when you've seen what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me
Come back to me

So I'll let you go, I'll set you free
And when you've seen what you need to see
When you find you, come back to me

And I hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you, come back to me

You find you, come back to me
When you find you, come back to me
When you find you, come back to me

Danger in a Red Dress

I started yet another new book this morning, the third since Sunday. I know, that sounds nuts since it means I've been reading a 400-page book every two days!  Scary isn't it?  I must admit there is a definite thrill with starting a new book.  The moment I turn that first page, I feel like I'm starting a new adventure, which I suppose is true considering where a reading journey might take you.  It's pretty much how one would feel when watching a new movie too, I reckon.

Funnily enough, I'm not sure if that is a usual occurrence or because of the subject matter since I've never really noticed how fast I read until recently when it keeps coming up in convos with my girlfriends, Maria and Nita.

I must add that it's not part of the Dark-Hunter series either. I thought I'd give it a break and read one of my other six books from Sunny and I wanted to see if I can read as quickly with a non Dark-Hunter book. Ha ha, so I confess to experimenting as well, not that I have much to worry about with this book. It is written by Christina Dodd after all and I'd already got through 80 pages by the end of lunch.

Danger in a Red Dress concludes two of her contemporary series; the Fortune Hunters with the wonderful Manly brothers and the Lost Texas series with the heartbreaking yet heartwarming Prescott family. It tells the story of Gabriel Prescott the adoptive brother of the Prescott sisters and Hannah Grey, who crossed paths with the Manly family. She was down on her luck and desperate for work when she found herself in a mansion on the wild Maine coast, caring for a lonely elderly woman, who then entrusted her with a dangerous secret on her deathbed.  Hannah soon found herself on the run and pursued by killers, and desperately needed the one man who could keep her alive.   No prize for guessing who that would be!   Thus far, I've been thoroughly captivated and charmed!

I've been reading Christina Dodd's books for years though I'd read mostly her historical romances.  I suppose I can safely say that she is probably my 2nd favourite author since I started reading adult romances  and taken note to remember whose book I was reading - the first being Jayne Ann Krentz, of course.  You could probably imagine my delight when I picked up her first contemporary romance a few years ago.  I can't remember which it was but it was as wonderful as her historical romances.  In fact, all her contemporary books  were delightful! I've read them all.

Christina's heroines are such strong gals who are not shy to go for what they want even as they are not obnoxious about it. I know, I know, that's inherent in all romances but her gals are so much fun! They are witty, assertive and full of spunk!  Her guys also complement the gals wonderfully.  Their encounters are often full of sparks!  There is a lot to be said for wonderful chemistry and indeed those are the kinds I love to read about. There is also a liberal amount of humour and intensity.  One can't help but be captivated.

Christina has now ventured into the paranormal genre. I loved her Darkness Chosen series that involved the four children of the Wilder (formerly Varinski) family.  I wished there was more of that story to tell.  She has a new series out now too, the Chosen Ones, and oh joy, it's a 7-book series! I look forward to journeying there as well!

Worm Hole

Okay, so it's not really a worm home but it can sure pass for one!  Either that or the train station in a Harry Potter movie!

I'd been invited to a mate's house for Diwali last Friday and went through Serangoon Station for the first time. I had to pass by this tunnel from the platform to the exit. I dare say I was rather intimidated at first. It seemed like the tunnel with no end!

Strangely, it does not look as bad going down but going up.... ay yay yay!

But hey, at least they have nice paintings here and there. I rather liked this swirly one. It was huge and covered almost a whole wall.

And the Cows Go Moo....

In recent years these cows have occasionally sprung up at grassy patches all over Singapore.  They are meant to be advertising gimmicks for Giordano, a major and popular clothing line here.

Strangely enough, the name is not prominently featured anywhere near the cow, not that I've ever gone near enough to inspect.  I think they are cute nonetheless.

Maybe I should have asked these girls, they seem to have had fun playing with them.

Now if they were goats, I would have thought that one of them is Maria and the rest are the Von Trapp children and we could have yodeled. I rather like that song.

Oh what the heck, let's sing it anyway.  All together now....

High on a hill was a lonely goatherd, lay odl lay odl lay hee hoo...

New Moon: How About Team Bella - My 2nd TATB Article

Another burst of inspiration that came about as I grew weary of everyone's defense of both Edward and Jacob in New Moon yet forgetting our true heroine.  My beautiful Bella doesn't get enough defending some days, poor honey! This was published in TA's Talk Back section in May 2009.

New Moon: How About Team Bella?

Mention New Moon to any fan of the Twilight series and more often than not, you will get two scenarios - they will either tell you it is very painful because Edward left or they will tell you how much they love that Jacob finally got more time in the book. This is when readers start to choose camps; Team Edward, Team Jacob or Team Switzerland.

Readers will either skip the bulk of the book during each re-read because it was so hard not having Edward and the Cullens there or enjoy that same period so much because Jacob and the Quileutes were emphasized. Then you get the Team Switzerland camp, who will tell you that they cannot choose sides because both Edward and Jacob are important and for that reason they will read the whole book.

Yet strangely, almost no one seems to commiserate with how Bella actually felt. No one seems to say, “Oh the poor honey, dealing with her depression that way” or “Oh the poor darling, losing the only friend she had just as she was coming out of her depression”. Everyone just seems to talk about the boys - Edward and Jacob - but what about our actual heroine, Bella, through whose eyes we experience the story?

Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore Edward and have complete faith in him. In that sense, you can say that I am Team Edward. Anyone who knows me will not hesitate to say that I am always keen to come to his defense. That is not to say that I hate Jacob though, since I believe he is essential to the flow of the series. I also love Bella and Edward’s love story and was ecstatic when I approached their reunion.

Having said that and despite knowing what happened later in New Moon and the series, on my second read, it still took me three days to get through the pages after Bella’s party because I knew Edward was about to leave. I felt the actual need to brace myself for the emotional turmoil that ensued. I personally feel that New Moon is a very sad and emotional book but even on my second read, I did not skip any pages. I forced myself to persevere and experience the book fully. If anyone skips so much of the middle, how can they truly empathize with Bella’s distress and how can they fully enjoy the progression of the story?

I have to wonder though if anyone else felt Bella’s agony. Did no one feel her immense fear when she thought Victoria and Laurent would hunt her down? Unlike in Twilight, she didn’t have the Cullens to come to her rescue anymore.

There was nothing I could do. There were no precautions I could take. There was no place I could hide.

There was no one who could help me. I realized, with a nauseous roll of my stomach, that the situation was worse than even that. Because all those facts applied to Charlie, too. My father, sleeping one room away from me, was just a hairsbreadth off the heart of the target that was centered on me. My scent would lead them here, whether I was here or not.

The tremors rocked me until my teeth chattered.

- Chapter 10, The Meadow

Did no one feel like crying with Bella when she quarreled with Jacob outside his house, the first time she saw him after he joined the pack? She was finally waking from her stupor (as best she could anyway) and then she loses her only lifeline.

I’d thought Jake had been healing the hole in me - or at least plugging it up, keeping it from hurting me so much. I’d been wrong. He’d just been carving out his own hole, so that I was now riddled through like Swiss cheese. I wondered why I didn’t crumble into pieces.

- Chapter 11, Cult

These lines really get to me each time! They are just so sad and full of anguish that I can’t even begin to imagine the pain if I ever have to be in her shoes.

So did anyone else feel for Bella at all?

I'm Going Slightly Mad...

I'm going slightly mad
I'm going slightly mad
It finally happened - happened
It finally happened - ooh oh
It finally happened - I'm slightly mad

LOL, couldn't resist borrowing a few lines from Queen's popular song, coz truthfully, those lines went through my mind on Thursday evening when I paid the library another visit and walked away with three more books!

I can get quite single-minded when I get 'sucked' into certain realms on my reading journeys; I remember doing that when I started Christine Feehan's Dark Series.  So I had this bright idea of getting Strykerius's book that comes after Acheron in Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series.  Remember Acheron? The one whose 753 page story I gobbled up in three days?!

Actually I thought I'd already borrowed it at the same time I got Acheron so was a little dismayed that I'd passed on it - not realising at the time that it came after Acheron, of course.  Instead I'd gotten Wren and Arik's books.  So when I saw from the catalog that Strykerius's book was in, I quickly made my way there after work.  Of course, once I was there how could I resist checking out who else was there - hmm.. should I worry that I am referring to them as a real person? ;).  I saw Alexion's and he was Acheron's ward for a while so that's a definite must. Then lil' Miss Smarty Pants that is me had to check out what's on Christine Feehan's shelf and lo and behold, I found the 2nd Drake sister's story. That's like difficult to find so of course that came home with me too!

Dang it! I'm not sure if the Library's new policy of allowing six books is a good thing or not, LOL. I just can't stay away! So these are my new pals from the Library for the next three weeks.

Arik  & Geary

Wren & Maggie

Strykerius & Zeyphyra

Alexion &  Dangereuse

Kate (Drake) & Matt

Did I mention that I already have seven books to read as well? LOL  Actually make that six coz I'm certainly burning rubber to finish one book that I'd started yesterday, so that I can start another Dark-Hunter book! Let's place the blame squarely on Acheron's broad shoulders eh? It's all his fault for getting me so hooked into the realm of his Dark-Hunters! He is a god after all. I'm sure he won't mind. :D

Beauty, Brains and Pure Class...

In a recent interview, the gorgeous Noot Seer, who plays Heidi of the Volturi in New Moon, was asked what's the best beauty advice she has been given. One would expect the generic beauty tip yet she answered thus:

"With beautiful eyes look for the goodness in others.
With beautiful lips speak only words of kindness.
And for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."
Audrey Hepburn

Such wisdom from one beauty quoted from the classic beauty of all time.

The Tale of The Salty Coffee...

I first encountered this story a while ago via email and have often remembered it with great fondness. I have taken the liberty to correct the grammar since the ones I've seen thereafter have been rather erroneous grammatically.  Enjoy..

The Salty Coffee

He met her at a party.  She was so outstanding, many guys were after her; while he was so normal that no one paid attention to him.  At the end of the party, he invited her to have coffee with him.  She was surprised but out of politeness, she agreed.

They sat in a nice coffee shop. He was too nervous to say anything that she felt uncomfortable. She thought to herself, "Please, let me go home."

Suddenly he asked the waiter, "Would you please give me some salt?"  They stared at him for the strange request! His face turned red but he still added the salt in his coffee and drank it.  She asked him curiously, "Why do you have this preference?"

He replied, "When I was a little boy, I was living near the sea.  I liked playing in the sea. I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of the salty coffee.  Now every time I have salty coffee, I always remember my childhood and think of my hometown. I miss my hometown so much. I miss my parents who still live there."

While saying these, tears filled his eyes.  She was deeply touched, since he seemed to be conveying his true feelings, from the bottom of his heart.  A man who spoke of his homesickness must be a man who loved and cared about the home and had a responsibility for it.

Then she also started to speak. She spoke about her far-away hometown, her childhood and her family. They had a nice conversation, which was also a beautiful beginning to their story.

They continued to date and she realised he was a man who met all her requirements; he had tolerance, was kindhearted, warm, careful. He was such a good person.

Thanks to his salty coffee, the story was just like every beautiful love story.  The princess married the prince and they lived a happy life.  And every time she made him coffee, she would add some salt, as she knew that was how he liked it.

After 40 years, he passed away and left her a letter:

"My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my life-long lie. This was the only lie I ever told you - the salty coffee.  Remember the first time we met? I was so nervous at the time, I wanted some sugar but asked for salt instead.  I was too embarrassed to change my request, so I just went ahead with it.  I never thought that could be the start of our relationship!

I tried to tell you the truth many times while we were together but I was too afraid  since I had promised not to lie to you about anything.  Now that I am dying, I do not fear much so I'm telling you the truth.

I don't like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste!  But I have had the salty coffee since knowing you. I never felt sorry for what I did.  Having you with me was the best happiness in my whole life. If I could live for a second time, I would still want to know you and have you in my life, even if I have to drink salty coffee again."

By the time she finished, the letter was totally drenched with her tears.

One day, someone asked her, "What's the taste of salty coffee?"

     Her reply, "It's sweet".

Acheron, Oh How I Adore Thee...

He was Apostolos, the son of Atlantean gods Apollymia Katstrafia Megola (Apollymi the Great Destroyer) and Archon, yet no one knew of him.  Cursed by Fates while in his mother's womb, she  forcibly removed him from her womb and sent him to the human realm, to be born as one of a pair of twins of the Greek kingdom of Didymos, so he may live and cherished as a royal prince. She hid his powers to keep him safe from other Atlantean gods who would kill him, so he became a human. She was then banished to the Atlantean hell, Katokalis, where she would remain until she revealed his whereabouts or if he died.

Though he was the firstborn, his unnatural swirly silver-coloured eyes caused them to fear him and believed him to have been sent from the gods hence cursed. He was only saved because a priestess convinced the king that killing him would kill his other son as well since their life forces were combined. The queen refused to nurse him and no one would touch him safe the priestess.

She proclaimed, "Then he will be called Acheron for the River of Woe.  Like the river of the Underworld, his journey shall be dark, long and enduring. He will be able to give life and to take it. He will walk through his life alone and abandoned - ever seeking kindness and ever finding cruelty.  May the gods have mercy on you, little one.  No one else ever will."  Indeed the simple truth of her last words would haunt him for the rest of his existence.

The only one to ever care about him was his sister, Ryssa, only seven years older, whose unrelenting love would grant him comfort until her untimely and brutal death, even as she unwittingly caused him more repeated harm.  He was wrenched from Ryssa's arms at the tender age of seven, supposedly given into the care of the King's brother, Estes, ambassador to Atlantis. Instead he was subjugated and trained to be a tsoulus - a sexual slave to the noblility and wealthy of Atlantis. His life was one of untold pain, torture, abuse and depravity.

All this was hidden from Ryssa but she risked all to remove him from Atlantis when she found out. Alas he was eventually discovered and sent back to the same hell and only returned to Didymos after his uncle died. Even then, his father and brother, Styxx, refused to acknowledge him but kept him in captivity and constantly abused him beyond belief, with no mercy given. They would have killed him, of course, if not for the fact that Styxx would also perish.  Only Ryssa comforted him.

He secretly became the human pet of Artemis, the virgin Greek goddess, whose twin, Apollo, was given Ryssa to be his consort as a sacrifice to prevent war with Atlantis. But goddess that she was, she constantly trifled with him and eventually betrayed him when she realised he was a god and merely stood by as Apollo killed him in rage after discovering Ryssa and their son's mutilated bodies.

His death freed Apollymi and so aggrieved was she by the injustice caused to him and his torturous death, she wrecked vengeance on the Atlantean gods, turning them all to stone. She wiped Atlantis from the face of the earth, and was on a path of destruction through Greece towards Mount Olympus destroying everyone that had ever neared him, when Fates convinced Artemis to bring Acheron back from Hades by binding him to her.  With his revival Apollymi returned to her banishment.

Welcome to the world of Dark Hunters, warriors chosen to join Artemis's army to fight the Daimons - Apollites cursed by the Apollo, to feed on each other or risk dying on their 27th birthday unless they find ways to feed on human souls - in retaliation of them killing his consort and infant son.  Artemis blackmailed Acheron to lead the Dark Hunters. With his compassion, humanity and reluctance to see them suffer a fate worse than death, how could he refuse.

I'd encountered Acheron in two earlier books I'd read from the series and he's always intrigued me .  He seemed so nonchalant; unaffected by life and detached from his Dark Hunters, yet we could see that he cared for them and that there were layers to his personality.

So when it was time to return my Drake sisters books, on a whim I checked the  Library's catalog to see if they had any Sherrilyn Kenyon books. I was surprised that they did though I reckon my gasp of pleasure could be clearly heard when I saw which one in particular was available at my branch! I even made a special trip to get this (and two others) even though I could have easily returned my books two days later - the temptation of having a branch so close by, I suppose!  Of course I couldn't wait a moment longer than necessary to start reading it -  despite already having seven other books to read and even as I was in the middle of reading two books.

This is only the fourth book I've read in Sherrilyn Kenyon's series where mythical creatures exist alongside mortals at the whims of gods and goddesses.  Nonetheless, I can safely say that this will probably be my favourite even as I've yet to read the ones in between. So enthralled was I by the story, it took me only two days to finish his human story of 434 pages and by day three, I'd finished all 753 pages! I wept at his constant torment and heartbreak, and rejoiced at the little comfort and love showered by Ryssa and his nephew. I imagine even the hardest of hearts would be affected thus.

The story continued to the present day where Acheron attempted to dispute Dr Soteria Kafieri's claims that Atlantis existed so that his secrets would stay buried and he would not lose the respect he has garnered since leading the the Dark Hunters.  And of course, this being the romance genre, he'll also finally find love without condition that he definitely deserves.  Aaah... a true gem indeed!

Great Expectations - My First TATB Article

A while ago I mentioned how the Twilight series has managed to awaken my long dormant muse with that little poem I wrote.  However, prior to that, I had written this for TA's Talk Back section in March and it was published on the site.

I was beyond stoked since it's my first published work anywhere and what amazed me more was the fact that it was one of the articles that got picked up if one were on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) site under the actors' names. Woo hoo!

Great Expectations

Imagination - that fundamental facility of the human mind - allows us to be transported into worlds of fantasy where we enjoy the adventures of an adolescent wizard and his friends in Harry Potter; where we follow hobbits, elves, dwarves, wizards and mortal men as they reclaim Middle Earth from the Dark Lord, Sauron, in Lord of the Rings; and where we experience the life of a typical and unassuming teenage girl when she falls in love with a vampire and overcome all odds in the Twilight series.

It is natural for readers to have a certain perception when we read fiction since it runs through our minds like a motion picture. Hence when our favourite fiction gets made into film, we have certain expectations on how it should look on the silver screen. Often fans of fiction are seldom satisfied with the resulting movies. Message in the Bottle, The Da Vinci Code, Eragon and Pride and Prejudice are such examples.

Twilight was no exception. Stephenie Meyer’s series has a global fan following, has been translated to 37 different languages and is the biggest phenomenon to hit the world since Harry Potter. It is only natural that the fans had such great expectations when it was made into a film. There were many scenes that we wished we could have seen in the movie, we wished that the characters had more depth as in the book and we even have our own ideas on who should play the roles of our beloved characters. Fans had objected to almost every member of the main cast from Robert Pattinson to Elizabeth Reaser. In fact, only Ashley Greene was approved of from the beginning but even then, she was “too tall”.

After the initial disapproval and fans have accepted the producers’ choices, we criticize certain aspects of the actors portrayal of the characters; thinking them inexpressive, stilted or awkward. Yet we forget that the actors worked from a given script, they did not improvise as they went along. We also forget that the film has producers, script writers and a director and they are the ones who directed the actors on how they want the roles to be portrayed according to their vision. As it stands, it’s a well-known fact that Catherine Hardwicke botched up the movie so much so that it was actually saved by her crew. Yet none of the fans are quick to point fingers at her. So why do we only blame the the actors for not portraying the characters as we think they should?

These are all forgotten though when the movie is completed and the actors start promoting it either via interviews or personal appearances. Thousands of screaming fans congregate for hours to catch a glimpse of the actors and if they are lucky, to get autographs and photos taken with them. From the US to Canada to Europe, the fans came in drones and the actors, especially Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, were required to be present for those. As a result, the lines between fiction and reality blurs and fans start thinking of the actors as the characters. Nikki Reed was asked to hold a stranger’s baby while the mother stepped away, because she wanted her baby to be held by Rosalie Hale. Some female fans snub Kristen in favour of Rob, as if she really is Bella and they want Edward all to themselves. A favourite question that fans asked of Kristen was “how does it feel to kiss a vampire?” Then Rob gets requests of “bite me” from the fans and even from talk show host, Tyra Banks. Ermm hel-lo! Is Rob a real vampire?

In addition, there were also various photo shoots with magazines, and to especially show the chemistry between the leading stars, some of them were very provocative. Such grueling promotion commitments would naturally cause the actors, especially Rob and Kristen, to bond so people start reading into their body language. They deduce that they must be romantically involved since Edward Cullen and Bella Swan are so perfect for each other, so must they. If that is not enough, they get no privacy with the paparazzi dodging their every move so that every minute detail of their lives are documented; from going to the vet to buying beer.

It is only natural that these take a toll on the actors. It is difficult for the single Rob since he doesn’t have the freedom of movement to enjoy live as a single young man. It must be even more difficult for Kristen who is in an actual relationship to brush off the rumours. Can we really blame Kristen’s boyfriend, Michael Arangano, for feeling the strain when older actors in more established relationships like Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, and Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, have lost in the battle of romantic linkages?

The actors have admitted that they did not realize the magnitude of the Twilight phenomenon when they signed up for the roles – Rob likened the sounds of screaming fans to the “gates of hell”. Yet they have been quite stoic and good sports about making so many personal appearances and meeting the fans, being interviewed and photographed. Of course the fans forget all these when the actors, namely Kristen, admits to not enjoying the series as much as the fans do; or that each time they appear in public it is an overwhelming “psychotic” experience. They question her loyalty when she supposedly refused to appear in the Oscars with Rob through a statement from her father. Fans take snippets of things said or printed as truth, never thinking they could very well have been misquoted or the words spoken under direction from any number of people behind the scenes. So why do we take delight in critiquing what they deliver, just because they are on the front line?

Besides, is it really fair to expect these actors to have their whole lives consumed by the Twilight phenomenon? It is after all a work of fiction and they are, ultimately doing their jobs. How could we expect actors to allow their work to take over their lives when the average person does not and would shudder the thought of such a thing happening? Besides, once the euphoria dies down, they will still need to move on to other projects. The Twilight series will continue to live in our hearts and minds and we now have the movies to help visualize them. Can’t we just enjoy the movies and leave the actors to their lives?
