A recent discussion came up on the Twilighters Anonymous forum on how our parents named us. I shared that as the first born and with the non-existent baby names book at the time, my mum had looked around for the perfect name and finally found one she liked in a magazine. It had belonged to a Malaysian princess at the time.
As is common with many people in my community I have two names (though it's gone up to three now!) and for the longest time, I only thought my first name has meaning while the second does not. It's also why I very much prefer going by my first name. In any case, without going into the nitty gritty of actually revealing my name, the first means "light" while the second means "those who were beloved". Or so I thought. This recent discussion, however, revealed an even deeper meaning of my second name by one of my friends who happens to be a native Arabic speaker.
She tells me my second name actually refers to "those who adore each other to death" while the first could also mean "illumination". I was floored and humbled to know that I've been gifted with a name that has such deep meaning. Thank you Mum!
But this doesn't end there. No, of course not, especially with my near-obsession with the realm of Forks. I'm sure that some may very well see where I'm going with this...
So my name basically means the "illumination of those who adore each other so passionately" and who else has such an encompassing love than Edward Cullen and Bella Swan right? This came to me just this morning but I thought that it's just so fitting that a person with my name is so fascinated with that particular love story. And no wonder! I'm practically illuminating their love! LOL. Now who would have thought my name would have a Twilight reference! I surely didn't.

That sure screams "pre-destined" and "providential", doesn't it?
LOL pre-destined to be obsessed by a book series! Now that's definitely a new one!
There are a lot worse things you could be pre-destined for, so I'd take this one happily. :)
But of course. However, I'd like to think that we are the masters of our own destinies. We have the power to change the course of our lives even as God is the best of Planners. :D
Ah, the great mystery, like the chicken or the egg. :) It's an intriguing one to ponder, I'd say. Many possibilities there, and each one, equally interesting.
Ha ha true! I personally believe the chicken came first since God created the first chicken and the rest started breeding. After all, the Adam came first then his off-springs followed. :D
