Young, Dedicated and All-Out Talent!

     A recent feature in MTV revealed that Taylor Lautner is impressing his co-stars on New Moon, especially the ones reprising the roles of the vampires.

    According to Jackson Rathbone who plays Jasper Hale, Taylor's performance in the film was enough to sway half the cast and crew over to Team Jacob.

     He added, "Taylor Lautner really stands out in this film, and I think people are going to be really blown away by his performance.  You have these great moments that Jacob just completely is winning over Bella. And it's just beautiful to see it. It's all in their eyes."

    Other various co-stars, like Kristen Stewart and Nikki Reed, have been quick to defend him from the beginning of the confirmation that he would reprise the role of Jacob, citing that he's talented and dedicated.

    I wasn't really surprised to hear this.  Though only 17, Taylor seems to be very dedicated to his work. 

     I was already vastly impressed when I saw this little clip of a this young man in a black t-shirt self-consciously lifting up his shirt when the reporter asked him if he could show how he's bulked up. This was between Twilight and New Moon production and just after Chris Weitz confirmed him.

     I couldn't quite reconcile the fact that it was the rather unimpressionable and scrawny young man I'd seen in Twilight - so I didn't quite warm up to Jacob until much later.

 

 

     It definitely looked at the time like he's willing to go the mile to get this role and that scored a lot of points for me. His shy laughter and quick 'flip and cover' of that t-shirt totally endeared me to him and I remember telling myself that he's one to watch. :)

     In fact, so talented is this young man that by the age of 13, he'd retired from extreme martial arts after becoming the world champion four times!

 

 

     Anyway, I digress. I meant to say that if a mere viewer like me (one of many I'm sure) could notice that, it does not surprise me at all that his co-stars who have much closer interaction with him would feel that way. He is a very talented young man and he's got the drive to achieve what he wants and that is gold in my books. And having such a nice personality doesn't hurt either.

     I did think it was very telling what Jackson said though. The fact that his performance was spectacular enough to sway half the cast and crew over to Team Jacob, my oh my, awesome! He's gonna totally shine! Go Taylor! :D
