I love heels even as they are such killers for someone of my built! Notwithstanding, I do seem to walk with a better posture, even as I appear awkward when I walk in them, LOL.
It's been ages since I've worn any to work though coz the train gets so darn crowded and it's truly murderous on my feet and ankles when I have to stand for a 40-minute crowded train ride with the inevitable jostling around; not to mention the driving on those tracks leave much to be desired most times!
I'm not sure what possessed me - perhaps vanity! - but I was strongly inclined to wear it on Wednesday morning. I thought since I've got a nice outfit on, what the heck, let's suffer a bit (in the name of vanity!).
True enough I had to stand for the whole duration but it wasn't too bad. I had my mega headphones and my new book, what else could I ask for. As is the norm, I was soon engrossed in my book and easily tuned out everyone and everything around me.
This was not from the train but from my lunch hideout, ssssshhhhh, but that's how I'd be when I'm lost in my musical and literary world.

In any case, despite my distraction and although I had my back to the door, I was still cognizant of the stops, the music wasn't that loud for me to tune the automated announcer out. When time came for me to disembark and I started to turn towards the door; it required a bit of maneuvering since it was massively jam-packed.
But what surprised (and thrilled) me more was that I was almost a head taller than the people around me (some of whom were men), LOL. I'd forgotten how tall I can get when in heels and I was feeling rather pleased with myself. It's only 5'10, quite modest by Western standards but I'm practically Gulliver in an area where there are a lot of people who are 5'6 and shorter - although the young ones are getting to be quite tall now too.
And hey it helped in getting me out too. Some people (especially men) can just be so dense until they feel someone practically (and in my case, literally) breathing an "Excuse Me" down their necks! And I'm the one with the headphones! Okay okay, so I'm being a little sadistic here but hey it ain't my fault they drew the short end of the gene pool stick!! Ooops, a pun too! Ha ha!
